Description

Physical Description: Marixa is an average height for her race, athletic, and slightly pale due to her tendency to stay inside whatever is serving as her "lab" at that moment for days, sometimes even weeks, at a time. Her shiny black hair is cut short and simply so it is out of her eyes, and double ear piercings. She is never seen without her personally made goggles, and is almost always in her current set of mage robes. Has been known to dress up for special occasions.

Personality: Marixa is part genius, part mad-girl inventor, part little kid, and when she sees no other choice, a mature and competent leader. It is the rare occasion she has no other choice though. She has a bit of a flexible temperment, laughing one day at a joke, the next day responding to the same with a literally searing look. Unkind comments about her height or inferring she might be weak or incompetent in some way are speculated to be two of the fastest ways in Azeroth to light yourself on fire. Always at least partially covered in soot from her various explosives and gadgets; if you don't she her dragging some new metallic monstrosity out for a "test run" (all her inventions are apparently in a never ending beta version), you should be very, very careful, because that means you are her latest test subject.

Goals and motivation: Marixa seemingly has very few goals beyond acquiring the materials for her next idea. Scratch that surface however, and she has a few other goals: Staying very far away from her father the High Tinkerer and his guards looking to drag her back to his side, and to find out as much about the world as possible. She cares very deeply for the Gnome race as a whole, and is always thinking of ways to better their predictment during and after her father's term of office. She is considered a shoe-in to be the next leader if she ever comes back and rallys the support she needs. She also is very attached to <The Indelibles> who took her in her early days of running from her father, and will fiercely protect any of them who are in trouble.

History

Marixa is the child of what were the two greatest engineers in Gnomeregan when it was still the center of the Gnomish Kingdom, the current High Tinkerer Gelbin Mekkatorque and his now deceased wife, and it shows. Young for Humans, and very young for Gnomes, she has already helped bring about several advances in modern gizmos, with the construction and maintenance of the Ironforge-Stormwind Tram (she was part of the second pair of Gnomes working on it), and proved herself the equal or better of all but few in the field of engineering. She also is a mage of decent talent, presumably inherited from mother, and has chosen to specialize in Arcane magic for now. She is currently on the run from her father, having felt stifled and protected from achieving her full potential as an engineer and person well living with him. She made her escape into the world during the intial evacuations of Gnomeregan, and has since been found three times, the first two ending in her sending the guards who found her fleeing for the hills, and the last in her meeting the elite guard Haphe, who convinced her to at least meet once with her father. If that meeting happened, the details of it are unknown at this time, but rumor has it Marixa and her father managed to work out some sort of compromise. The whereabouts of Haphe are unknown at this time.
