From RavenholdtWiki
Okay! So, you want to learn how to Wiki? I'll teach you a few things. These are all I know so far, as I had no one to help teach me. If you know any other commands, please add them.
The best way to learn more about the commands on a wiki is to go into edit mode on pages that are well made. (Don't change anything!!!) Just look at the commands. Flip between edit and normal to see how the commands affect text. You'll be a pro in no time! =)
Contents
- 1 Remember, for anything on this page, I put spaces between the symbols, words, etc. When using the commands take out the spaces!
- 1.1 The = sign, when put on either side of a word, makes it sized up. The more = signs on either side, the smaller a word is. For example: = WORD = is bigger than = = WORD = = (No spaces between word and spaces, and spaces when trying to actually use the command.)This can also be used to mark out chapters on a page. Two = signs will make a whole number chapter, four will make a . number chapter, etc.
- 1.2 To link, you will use [ and ]. [ URL Word ] allows you to make a link. For instance, WORD links to this page.
- 1.3 To link elsewhere on the wiki, you will use double [ [ ] ]'s. Learn To Wiki, Noob! links to a redirect to this page.
- 1.4 To make a Redirect page, you will use #, followed by REDIRECT in all capital letters, followed by [ [ PAGENAME ] ].
- 1.5 To make a disambiguation, you will use #, followed by DISAMBIGUATION, followed by the links to the pages.
- 1.6 To sign posts (Use this only in discussion pages), use ~ ~ ~ ~ without the spaces. The text will automatically change to this: Turudes 19:28, 2 August 2009 (CDT) In both the edit and normal pages.
- 1.7 To put something in a category, anywhere on the page, type [ [ Category : (Guides/Characters/Alliance Characters/Horde Characters/Hunters/Paladins/Rogues/Priests/Shamans/Warlocks/Mages/Death Knights/Warriors/Humans/Gnomes/Dwarves/Night Elves/Draenei/Blood Elves/Orcs/Undead/Tauren/Trolls/Guilds) ] ]
- 1.8 In order to make things separated in a list, you need to go down two lines. One line, and the wiki will still make them out to be next to eachother. Creepy, I know.
- 2 Remember, for anything on this page, I put spaces between the symbols, words, etc. When using the commands take out the spaces!
