Background
Gursub Boorg was born and raised in the Barrens by an Orcish scholar, Barood, who was a family freind, after his father died in battle and his mother was taken by disease. Barood taught Grusub to read, he also taught Grusub history, math, philosophy, grammer and etiquite. When Barood passed died from old age, Grusub was drafted into the Blackned Hand Clan at the age of 13. The Blackned Hand Clan became a new home to him until they were ambushed by quilboar. Then, with the clan in ruins, Grusub saw that they were headed to the nearest town. He manadged to get to the town with one day to spare, but that was enough for them to prepare and defend against the quilboar threat. HE returned to Orgrimmar a hero, and soon after, returned to the Barrens with the making of the second incarnation of the Blackned Hand Clan. During this preiod, Grusub found a mate and, almost, had a child. But the clan was, again, ambushed. Though this time, the ambush was commited by alliance forces. With his clan in ruins, and his mate dead, Grusub had no were to go but Orgrimarr. He attemted to reform the clan tow more times, but to no avail. No one cared about a broken clan leader. The fact was that he failed his people and they would not forgive him. After this Grusub quickly turned to heavy alchoholism, attempting to drown his soorrows, or at least forget them temporarily. Years later, Grusub was in his fifties, when Calix Starbrook of The Dominion manadged to find him. Calix gave Grusub purpose, as well as the strength to stand on his own feet again, eve if it was in complete fealty to another. Grusub, for a time, worshiped Calix as a god, and completely sympathized with his goals of returning Azeroth to it's former paradise. But fealty requires complete submission. And when Grusub fell in love with Kirjana Borealis, a Blood Elf and former member of the dominion, he also, unknowingly threw himself into a conflict between The Dominion and House Alaskinaroth. Kirjana had been defencting to Varay Alaskinaroth, who was member of House Alaskinaroth. The oposite side of House Alaskinoroths leadership, Anakendira Alaskinaroth, claimed complete ignorance to Varays actions. Kirjana, all though she knew of Grusubs feelings, never shared his feelings and even after Grusub found out about her defection, he still remained in contact with her. This eventually lead to Grusubs exit from The Dominion. Soon after this, Grusub was involved in a clash with The Dominion that cost him his life as well as his soul. But he was brought back from his fate by an unknown source. That source is a closely guarded secret between Grusub and the person who brought him back. And to this day, Grusub has still not reveal who ressurected him or how. But there was the matter of of his soul, which had not returned with his life force. The next morning, grusub packed only the necessecary rations, a set of travel clothing and a hunting knife and left for parts unknown.
As told by Grusub
Who am I?
I am Grusub Boorg.
What am I?
I am broken and no longer a whole man... only recently given purpose by my master
Why?
Well thats a long story...
My name is Grusub Boorg... In my childhood early years I was raised by a man who was quite possibly the only Orchish scholar. My mother long and my father never there long enough to be remembered. I was raised by an Orc known as Barod Helful. Barood tried to raise the to build a school for Orcs in an attempt to bring his people into a new age of sophistication, seeing that not all of them were mindless barbarians. Unfortunately his school went to waste, no one was willing to cone to him despite what he could teach them. Mymother knew this Orc to be a caring gentle, although very strange, man. When she died I was left to be raised by him. Barod, or father as I called him, taught me to read, he taught me history, phiocephy, basic math, and how to speak properly (Or how not to say "Gimme food! Me hungry!"). From father I gained much, I was a very articulate Orc. But father was old... And dying... when I had come of age to bear arms my father had died. I was sent into the military to be trained as a grunt. But one day my caln was ambushed by a bristleback raiding party, we were unable to defend ourselves from the attack. I was the only survivor... I hidin the mountains and allowed them to belive that I was dead. I later discovered that they were prepareing to take more land from us. My clan was dead but the boars were headed to a small village known as bloodrock, that was completely unaware of the incoming assult. I had to move fast. Luckly I was able to move faster alone than an advancing force could. I arrived at the village with a days time to prepare. I spoke to the village cheiften about the advancing force, and how if he did not begin preparations then and there hispeoplewould be slaughtered. We prepared what militia we could a force of 23 males were armed, we were out numbered and we knew it... The next day the force was close to arrival. The situation looked grim, the men looked as if they had never seen battle. I decided to wing a speech.
"All right men! The enemy is advancing and will beupon us at any time now. I will not lie to you, the situation dose not look good. But I belive that you have that you can conquer this menace! I am not going to tell you that you will come out uninjured, or even alive. But you have families to look after, you have land to protect. This is your chance to make history! If you survive this day, you will be able to tell your children of your deeds this day! People will tell tales of your might, of your victory! Now when the enemy comes to the border, you will give no ground!"
It seemed to help, at least for moral. But there was still the matter of there being at least a two to one disadvantage in forces. i was not sure of our fate that day. All that was left for us to do was to wait. The tension began to escalate. Within an hour of the speech we saw the ememy force was nearly upon us. I do not remember the datails of that battle only a blind rage and the sound of metal tearing into flesh. We were victourious that day, but I know not how. After that battle I was a hero. But I had no were to go, O dod npt want to stay in Bloodrock village. So I went to Orgrimar, there I petitioned to start a caln, the warrior from the battle were the first to follow me. I gathered a large number of followers, we were a prosperous clan. We raclaimed the land taken from my former caln by the Bristleback Boars. All went well, I came to personally know allof my men and they came to respect me in return. I cared about each and everyine of them, I had developed a bond that carried it self beyond any word other than one... Love. I loved them... I loved tham all, they were all of my pride. But one day I rediscovered the meaning of the word love in one feamale in our village. Her name was Gaar Baro. She was important to me. She eventaully became the vessle for my unborn child. I was happy, I was whole, I was at peace.
But one day, the Bristleback returned to conquer again. Thiswas not an uncommon thing of them, but usually thier forces were small and disorginized. But on this day we were attacked by a force beyond my measure. We were defeated, we were massacred, we were scattred, we were broken....
I still do not were the few survivors are, if any, because we all went seperate ways. I returned to Orgrimar in the end to report to Thrall. But my injuries were to sever forneto serve as a Grunt again... I was discharged. My mate Gaar was killed in the battle, along eoth my unborn son...
I treid to reform the caln twice, each time failing. The first time due to a lack of followersbecause I lost one clan, and the second because I was no longer fit to lead.
I went away to seclusion, living out my days alone and broken... I spent my life like this for 5 years...
But one day I found hope! I met a Blood Elf named Calix Starbrook. He saved e from myself. Over time I made freinds, enemies, and I grew to know my master even more. I was happy, and i served him well.
But one day I met a man known as Varay Alaskinaroth... He changed everyhting...
I one day tried to form an alliance between the house and the dominion, and the house seemed interested. But one day wile trying to pry information from Varay about the house, I met someone imporatant to me. Her name is Kirjana Borealis. She was another member of the dominion, but after the house "allied" with us. Varay managed to use her as a defect to the house. But I did not know that, I fell in love with her and then I found out about her realations with Varay. Eventually her sister Salmaika found out that she was defecting and Kirjana was expelled from the dominion , a good portion of her soul taken from her as well.
I felt remorse for her as I had when my last mate had died....
The night before I left, something happened. Kirjana, she was in trouble. Her sister, Salmiaka had been taken and she had no one else to turn to. No one else who would listen.... I shouldn't have been any different. It would have samed me a lot of pain.
The Dominion had taken Salmiaka to Shadowfang Keep, were they had set up a garrison. Kirjana went up ahead, asking me to stay back. They were speaking in some strange for of code, always refering to Starbrook as "Father", and he refering to them as "Children" in like. Salmiaka seemed to argueing with her master.
And the Kirjana was discovered, and captured. I ran to her aid, but was beaten nearly to death by Starbrook. He was simply to powerful. Kirjana and Salmiaka spoke for some time, trying to convince Salmiaka that she was on her side, but Salmiaka was to far gone, no longer sane. Salmiaka could no longer forgive her sister, to much damage was done. After everything was said, Calix took her into the keep, and imprisoned her. Salmiaka brought be to conciousness, realizing that I was still alive, and "had always been a freind" and sent me on my way. She was reluctant to come with me, but she eventually joined behind me. I was never sure if she did so for her sister of in spite of Starbrook.
Somehow, Kirjana managed to escape Calix, in his own fortress. Though, he seemed to be keeping a loose hold over her. It was as if he was trying to teach her a life lesson... And then kill her.
In the process, Calix said to me, "You have grown strong again. That is good, for you would be nowere with out me. I am the one who saved you, your master. Your father. And this how you repay me for all that I have done for you? With betrayal? And the release of my prisoner, whom had defected to the enemy? Truely, you are a weak creature, and without me, you would still be in the Drunken state I found you in. You deserve no less than death."
I spoke in return, "Calix, I owe you nothing. You brainwashed me into your cult, and twisted your goals so that no one could see your true goal, the complete estruction of Azeroth. You do nothing to obtain your paradise. All I see is blood, and that is all I see tonight ending in."
The conversation went on, but Calix persued Kirjana after she escaped, with me not far behind. Salmiaka and I both fought Starbrook, but our combined might was no match for his power. When it was done... He did something to us.
To Salmiaka first, he made strange hand guesteres faster than the eye could distinguish and muttered words. And he proceeded to take Salmiakas soul from her body, making her his obedient slave.
And then he did the same to me. He said, "Such a weak creature... I don't even want it." as he began to crush the shard containing my soul. I writhed on the ground in agonizing pain. And then it happened........ The shard shattered, and I went limp. Still alive, but only a vessle. I had no soul.
They through me off of the bridge, and a preist whos time in the dominion was short, called on the intervention of her God to return me to life. But I still had no soul. I left with only my thanks to give.
After that, I left. Not telling anyone of my location for years. I broke away from the rest of the world to find my self.
When I returned, I found that the Dominion had already died. I spent a short time in the Bleeding Wolf Clan, under the leadership of Drexgar Bloodhowl, were the a Great Seer Aerok helped to reclaim my soul and who I was. But, they are no more, and Drexgar has vanished.
After my time in the Bleeding Wolf Clan, spent time as a freelance mercenary.
But I am old now, and I reside in the hall of the Frost Axe Clan, I am no longer a leader. I am free.
For now, I am just an observer, until the time comes when I am called again to fight. Though, I don't know what help I can be on the feild, I will provide it.
