A Day Off
June woke up and squinted her eyes at An'she, the sun. His gaze was warm and comfy, but there were twin pains, one just behind her eyes and another, well, behind her. The young tauren was laying on her back on the slope of a mountainside, hooves dug in slightly to prevent her from sliding. The druid's eyes opened and saw her gear and clothes scattered around. The landscape was that of the Barrens. Home sweet home, more or less.
It wasn't the first morning that June had woke up with a hangover. A fast mental check amended the thought to it wasn't the first afternoon she had woke up like this. She thought about removing the poison from her system, but decided against it. June swore to never try to outdrink another druid or a paladin unless magic was banned from the contest. For that matter, she knew not to try to outdrink the dead not so dead dead people. It seemed they had much more to try to forget.
First pain dealt with, the druid moved to the next. Rolling her hips to the left, June reached down with her right hand and grabbed her tail. There was a distinct kink in it from passing out on top of it. She tried to rub it out but that was taking too long. Looking around to make sure no one was watching, she used her nature magic to soothe the tightness away. June sighed happily with relief and adjusted herself so she was comfortably lying back again.
Wasn't there something she was supposed to be doing today? Some place she had to go? Someone to see? Anything? June's brow furrowed for a moment as she focused through the fading fuzz of last night. A passing fly interrupted her thoughts as it landed on her nose. She knew she shouldn't have, but couldn't help herself as a cyclone of wind whisked the insect away. A soft "moohaha" escaped her lips.
Nothing came to mind except the wind and the sun and a few thoughts. A drink of water took care of the aftertaste of last night. June wondered if she should get dressed, but decided against it. The afternoon sun just felt too nice. Besides, the druid could always shift forms if someone disturbed her. A few moments later, snores broke the silence.
